Important News Flash:
Jonas' habitual serenity has been disturbed recently by ominous rumors of a cheap imitator in the art world. Here is his statement:

Lately, I've heard rumors of an upstart copycat that is mimicking my style. Closer investigation revealed that the culprit is a prominent, self-styled “Painter of Light”. The name is obviously an assumed one, adopted to confuse the fine art afficianado, as is the slogan, once again obviously a rip-off of my own “Painter of Trite”.

While I truly believe that there's room enough in the art world for all artists and styles even if they are mostly inferior to mine, this upstart, whom I'll refer to hereafter as Doctor Evilart, has become a burr under the saddle of all who value and appreciate fine painting and marketing. While there is nothing I can do to stop the evil organization run by the aforementioned Dr. Evilart, I will encourage people to stick with the genuine article, which is my art, approved by both the Pope and the Dalai Lama, as well as various other influential figures.

2008 Update!
The last year or two have been prosperous ones for Jonas and his career continues to expand. As more people appreciate his extra fine art, his well-deserved fame and fortune have grown huge and he's busier than ever.

"My hat's off to all you discerning fans out there," he smiled, "and to the Lord of course, who gave me this great talent. This year takes me all over the great continent of North America, capturing its scenic beauty and history with my magical paints and canvas.

"Wherever there's a super-bright and colorful sunset, I'll be there. Whenever the light hits a spray-drenched waterfall just right and there's a well-lit English cottage next to it, I'll be there. Wherever a wave crashes against a rocky point with a stone lighthouse and adjacent cabin that has intense orange light pouring out all the windows and smoke curling from the rock chimney in the light of a setting sun, I'll be there."

So look for Jonas this summer and say "hi!" when you see him.

Kaskade Art on Display in the Oval Office
By Cliff Gifford
The White House proudly announced today that President Bush has just purchased a signed print of the famous Jonas Kaskade painting, "Special Visitors".

"I'm gonna keep it on the desk in the Oval Office," smiled the President, "and look at it every day. First time I seen that, I had to ask Condi if we should send old Jonesass [the President's fond nickname for the artist] to the pokey at Gitmo and see what he knows about them UFOs, but I was just kiddin'. But if we did, I'd make sure he had plenty of paints and stuff to work with."

The president went on to say that he "valued that Kaskade art as true American art, painted by a God fearin' patriot who loves not only his country, but the land it's built on.

President Bush on the phone with Jonas Kaskade, congratulating him on becoming a White House artist.
"I sure do like that man's work. Whenever I'm feelin' down and out, which ain't often since I'm the head kahuna around here, I like to look at Jonesass' artwork, to remind me of what America truly is. His paintin's show reality as I see it, which is the right perspective. When I git outta here, Laura and I are goin' to buy and live in one of the new Kaskade Homes bein' built near Houston," winked the President.

The print will have a special place on the President's desk, facing outward for all visitors to enjoy.

Jonas Kaskade Announces the Introduction of his New Series: Artist's Tribute Prints
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better! Jonas Kaskade recently announced that he's embarked on a new series of fine art prints called "The Artists Tribute Series".

"These prints are my way of saying 'thank you' to the old masters who inspired me," proclaimed the esteemed artist at a recent Western Landscape Art gala. "Each print will be signed and numbered and accompanied by a booklet about the artist and painting being honored and how I interepreted it for modern eyes."

In an ambitious mood, Kaskade chose for his first release a tasteful and well-crafted rendition of one of Thomas Moran's classic paintings of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

“I love this painting!” exclaimed the artist rapturously, “The original is huge and inspiring, depicting the glory of God's creation. I chose to honor it by re-interpreting it from a modern perspective. We all love such places and they have a special place in our hearts, but they can be intimidating in their vastness. What better way to calm our fears than by including something homey and familiar, which is what I did in this painting.

I hope to donate the original to the Park Service, in the hopes that it will inspire the administrators of Yellowstone to think seriously about including more comforting, familiar places to eat and relax. I was very hungry the last time I visited, and couldn't find a place to eat. I have high hopes that at this point, more than any other in the history of the Park Service, they will act on my suggestion.”

Thomas Moran:

The first artist to be honored in the new series. Portrait in charcoal by Jonas Kaskade.

"I think old Tom would be pround of what I've done with his fabulous art! He might even say, 'Gee, thanks, Jonas. Thanks for bringing my work back to the American People with your meaningful interpretation.'

"You're welcome, Tom!"

The future of the Artists Tribute Series

"I hope to turn out two to four of these a year, in between my other important work," winked Kaskade. "Future honored artists will include Winslow Homer, Charles Russell, Albert Bierstadt and many others!

"Everybody stay tuned for more exciting revelations about this great new series, and what products you'll be able to buy featuring this art!"
