| “Our cottage was nestled in a rocky valley next to an icy lake. At night, the warm window-glow was a magnet for wildlife and weary travelers. The deer usually showed up as if delivered from Heaven, at a time when our own supplies were running slow. They were delicious. With this painting, I wanted to convey my own sense of delight when they would appear.” |
